Trends in Traffic Generation

There are two main types of traffic :

Search Engine Traffic – This type of traffic comes from search engines such as Yahoo, MSN and Google. The good thing about it is that it is free, highly targeted and usually helps direct quite a lot of traffic. The not so good thing is that it you can’t control it. You rely on robots to analyze and deliver the traffic to your site, and it is short term.

Referred Traffic – This type of traffic comes from a third party mostly a human source, some examples being forums, banners, article directories and partners. The good thing is that it is can be controlled, it is highly targeted and it is long term. The not so good thing is that it is time consuming, and it is repetitive.

Today it seems that webmasters mostly rely on traffic coming from search engines.  However, the correct manner in which to get traffic as the new school of thought recommends is to not use search engines, since search engines give a narrow view in regards to traffic generation, and so one will not be able to see the opportunities that exist outside of search engines in order to generate traffic.  You will also not be able to control the traffic if you use search engines and that does not work too well in marketing. The use of search engines to generate traffic should not be your priority. It may be better to focus on referred traffic, as discussed above, in dealing with traffic generation.

If you use referred traffic you will have long term control on your traffic and it can be manually generated rather than by a robot.  You can submit content to your feeds, be active in forums and blogs, and even exchange links if you use the referred traffic method. Another way you can use referred traffic is to submit the sitemap of the site to MSN, Google, Yahoo, etc. especially since Google and most search engines make changes to their algorithms on a daily basis in order to produce content that is relevant for the users of their various engines.

When you build referred traffic to your site, you are assisting search engines so as to be able to index your site, rank and understand your site in a better way, and therefore developing search engine traffic as well in a natural manner.

Clickbank Secrets

Clickbank Secrets You Want to Know About

There are many great secrets that surround the mysterious world of Internet and affiliate marketing—some of them have to do with Clickbank. Below are a few secrets that will help you find greater profits than you are expecting if you put them to work for you the right way.

Diversify
Never put all of your eggs in one basket or rest your livelihood on one product. Things change and golden geese lay a few rotten eggs alone the way. This is the reason that it is a good idea to always be on the lookout for new products to promote and consistently launch new campaigns. It is a wonderful idea and habit to get into to go back and brush up on old campaigns regularly. It is a terrible idea to focus all of your effort and energy into one campaign and never moving beyond that campaign. No matter how profitable that campaign is, chances are that it isn’t nearly as profitable as you would be if you had other campaigns running at the same time.

Trial and Error
In the world of Clickbank and Internet marketing you often learn as much from the mistakes you make along the way as you do from the successes. For this reason, if nothing else, it is a good idea to go through some degree of trial and error for each Clickbank campaign you launch. This gives you the idea to try some new things, run a few tests, and risk making even more money by discovering something new and highly profitable. Even with your tried and true campaigns it’s a good idea to make the effort to find something a little extra every once in a while.

Sit on Both Sides of the Fence
Don’t  spend all of your time as a product creator or as an affiliate. Experience things on both sides of the fence on occasion so that you know what is appealing to you as an affiliate and can make better products. By learning how to create products you can have new respect for those who create the products you promote and learn a little more about what makes a product great rather than merely good.

There are no absolutes in this crazy business. At any given moment you could suddenly become a magnet for profitable ventures and sales. You could also suddenly become untouchable and find that no one will buy anything you have to offer for a period of time. The market swings back and forth and fickle people change their minds. If you put these ideas to work for you though you might have a better shot at Clickbank success when all is said and done.

What is Clickbank?

Clickbank is a unique and valuable service that connects people with products to sell to those who have an audience that might be interested in purchasing those products. Clickbank goes far beyond this simple explanation though.

If you need a platform for selling online, Clickbank is almost the perfect solution. The reason is simple, it provides this platform, manages the money, and also allows product creators the opportunity to present their products to a large pool of retailers online that are more than willing to sell the products for them.

Product creators can leave the difficult aspect of managing the sales of their products to Clickbank so that they can get back to what they do best, creating new products. They even handle affiliate payments for you. This is truly the no muss no fuss way to sell your information products online.

For affiliates, Clickbank presents a world of opportunities. Perhaps the biggest benefit of Clickbank is that you do not need to own your own website in order to promote these products. You can promote them on your blog, a Squidoo lens, and countless other formats. In other words, it is not necessary in this instance, to spend money in order to make money.

There are more benefits though that are well worth mentioning. Clickbank doesn’t force you to apply to represent specific retailers. This means that there are no waiting periods. You can immediately begin promoting the Clickbank products of your choice.

Another great benefit when it comes to promoting products that are being sold on Clickbank is the fact that advertisers on Clickbank aren’t going to drop you as an affiliate simply because you have a dry month of two without sales. Many of the other affiliate programs you run across online will drop you at the first sign that you aren’t producing for them. You really can’t afford to take a month or two off if you want to continue the relationship. This is not the case when it comes to Clickbank.

In a world of real and virtual products it is great to have a source of income like Clickbank no matter what side of the product you are on. Whether you need a little extra exposure for your products or have a list of people that are looking for great products recommended by you there are many opportunities to make money by selling on or for Clickbank.

Social Media Primer

One thing is for sure, there are about as many rules or methods in social media as there are people.  I do a lot of research online about social media and what stands out to me is that what everyone is in agreement about is the importance and impact that social media is having on the majority of online businesses. It use to be www links on various businesses. Now, even the Forbes 500 companies have their follow me twitter and facebook links on their ads.  No doubt about it, if you want to succeed online you must get SOCIAL.
